What we believe...
We proclaim our faith each week in the words of the Apostle's Creed:
We believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of Heaven and earth, We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, he descended to hell. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 3:23-24, 6:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 3:23-24, 6:23
The bible
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God and is the source of our faith. It is "breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and for training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)
God
We believe in the one true God, who exists in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All persons are equal in power and glory. (Deut. 6:4; 1 Cor. 8:4, Matt. 28:19)
Mankind
We believe that from the first sin of Adam, all mankind are sinners, and therefore subject to God's wrath and judgment. (Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 3:23)
Jesus
We believe Jesus is true God and true man in one person. He was crucified and raised from the dead for the salvation of all who trust in Him. In Him we receive forgiveness of sins, eternal life and salvation. (2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:13-20, 1 Peter 3:18, John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23)
Salvation
We declare that salvation is attained by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ and not by good works. We believe that nothing we do can contribute to our own salvation, but we are saved solely by the work of Jesus on the cross. We believe that Jesus's death on the cross was enough to conquer all sin, and that all who repent and believe in Jesus as their Savior will be saved. (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 3:24, Titus 3:5, Romans 10:13, Mark 16:16)
The Church
We believe that there is one holy Christian Church on earth, the Head of which is Christ and which is strengthened and preserved by Christ's body and blood in the Lord’s Supper, and governed by Christ through the Gospel. We believe that the duty of the church is to go into all the world, baptizing disciples and proclaiming the Good News of the Salvation of Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Matthew 18:19, Romans 12:5)
